In celebration of Día de los Muertos, the Museum of Ventura County invites our community members to contribute mementos, photos, drawings, poetry, or other items to be included in the large outdoor altar that will be erected at the Museum of Ventura County and Agriculture Museum in Santa Paula. Please note that these items are non-returnable, so it is recommended that you make copies and keep your originals. There are many ways to show your respect for those who’ve passed, but the most common by far is to build an altar, or ofrenda, to honor their memory. It’s deeply rooted in tradition that goes back generations. Things can be dropped off at the museum starting Sunday October 24, and altar building will take place on Saturday October 30, starting at 10 am.
